About USA Climbing:
USA Climbing is the National Governing Body for the sport of competition climbing in the United States. Our mission is to promote the growth and success of the sport of competition climbing in the United States while supporting the well-being of participants and generating sustained competitive excellence for the United States in international competition.
Position Summary:
The Collegiate and Paraclimbing Series Manager is responsible for strategically planning and implementing actions to significantly advance these growing series. Including the organization and implementation of USA Climbing and International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) events held in the United States for these series. This position will lead the existing Collegiate and Paraclimbing Committees to ensure clear and effective strategies are created and implemented to provide increased opportunities for development of athletes, officials, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Finally, within Paraclimbing specifically, this position will work to advance the movement Internationally with an eye toward Paralympic inclusion in the future.

Primary Job Responsibilities
Collegiate Series:
• Work closely with the NCAA, colleges, universities, and other higher learning institutions to advance competition climbing and its role in the NCAA system.
• Develop long term relationships with collegiate AD’s, etc…to identify opportunities for Varsity and/or NCAA inclusion.
• Develop the Collegiate series to ensure opportunities for athletes to continue their development or continue their participation in the sport.
• Lead the USA Climbing Collegiate Committee to identify and implement strategies to grow all aspects of the Collegiate series.
• Organize logistics for Collegiate qualifying events by cultivating the resources of Divisional Coordinators across the country, in-taking documents and creating registrations
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders of the Collegiate Series including but not limited to Collegiate Divisional Coordinators.
• Manage the Collegiate National Championships event registration processes, including but not limited to, creation of registration forms, athlete invitations, registration lists and the overall qualification processes.
• Oversee the day-to-day aspects of running Collegiate Series, including approving memberships and communicating with members.
Paraclimbing Series:
• Develop the Paraclimbing series to grow participation in all sport classes, with opportunities to participate in all regions.
• Lead the USA Climbing Paraclimbing Committee to identify and implement strategies to grow all aspects of the Paraclimbing series.
• Work closely with the IFSC Paraclimbing staff and committees to understand, support, and further the para movement.
• Oversee the day-to-day aspects of running the Paraclimbing Series, including: approving memberships and communicating with members.
• Chair the Local Organizing Committee for IFSC Paraclimbing Events hosted by USA Climbing and USA Climbing Paraclimbing National Championships.
• Work towards Paraclimbing inclusion in the Paralympic program by showcasing significant participation in all sport classes.
• Manage Paraclimbing National event host agreements, including creation, distribution, and collection.
• Manage Paraclimbing National Championships event registration processes, including but not limited to, creation of registration forms, athlete invitations, registration lists and the overall qualification processes.
• Communicate with National event organizers/host facilities and other primary stakeholders for Paraclimbing and Collegiate Nationals.
• Support National Team Manager in registering Paraclimbing and Collegiate National teams for International Events.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders of the Paraclimbing Series, including paraclimbing classifiers.
• Oversee and manage USA Climbing’s classification process in conjunction with approved USA Climbing classifiers and the Paraclimbing Committee.
• Work closely with the VA in identifying new athletes, supporting existing athletes, and developing and implementing programs.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, sport management degree preferred, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of four (4) years working in sport
• Past experience working with Paraclimbing or another para sport a plus
