Job Summary
ROLE
*This position is responsible for assisting the Legal Department primarily with respect to contracts, litigation and other general corporate matters, as assigned.
This position will be responsible for:
- Performing legal research
- Drafting legal documents (including contracts)
- Actively supporting outside counsel with litigation
- Preparing legal communications, correspondence and documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle variety of tasks and matters with respect to litigation
- Maintain litigation database to locate, compile and analyze files and information.
- Manage calendar for legal filings and deadlines.
- Periodically audit adherence to litigation hold procedures.
- Prepare and review contracts and other legal documents under the guidance of a supervising attorney, including sponsorship, non-disclosure, independent contractor, service provider, event agreements and waivers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard contract templates.
- Assist in the development and implementation of processes, systems and required tools to ensure that contracts are prepared accurately, efficiently and timely.
- Draft, review and advise on promotions, contests and sweepstakes rules and related agreements.
- Assist with and manage special projects and research related to the Legal Department.
- Respond to questions from business units, including providing direction regarding compliance with organization policies, procedures and guidelines.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Paralegal certification from an approved program (preferred).
- 3-5 years of corporate transactional experience.
- 3+ years of litigation experience.
- Team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment handling a variety of matters from contract management to litigation and corporate matters.
- High level of organization skills, with an ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and carry out responsibilities independently.
- Highly-motivated self-starter with ability to work autonomously while functioning well in a collaborative team environment.
- A high-degree of professionalism and discretion with the ability to interact appropriately and comfortably with senior management.
- Ability to understand business operations, issues and dynamics beyond the scope of basic legal issues.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Office
