Established by the great philanthropist Dr.RM.Alagappa Chettiar, Alagappa College of Physical Education was inaugurated during July 1956 by the Maharaja of Mysore in the College was started offering Higher and lower certificate courses in 1956, BPED in 1967,one Year MPED, in 1970.
