Job Summary
OVERVIEW:
The Performance coach for RGVFC will be accountable for leading and managing the strength and conditioning program, ensuring all players have the capacity to perform at the highest level. The candidate will design and implement an integrated plan to develop players’ individual biomechanics, strength training, mobility, stability, conditioning, performance nutrition and recovery methods. This will include preparing off season plans for all returning players. This position will report directly to the Houston Dynamo’s Head of Performance.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
- Design and implement team strength and conditioning program
- Design and implement movement skill sessions to enhance performance
- Collect subjective data for all players and create daily reports for coaches
- Collect, analyze and distribute daily GPS reports
- Lead team warmups and cooldowns
- Assist players with performance nutrition
- Design specific individual in-season and off-season programs based on player needs
- Communicate effectively with all staff members
- Work closely with the medical staff on return to play progressions when necessary

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred)
- Minimum of (1-2) years of experience working with elite/competitive athletes, preferably in soccer
- Proficiency in demonstrating athletic movement both on the field and in the gym
- Experience with GPS required
- Knowledge of nutritional requirements for athletes is preferred
- NSCA CSCS or CPT and/or NASM PES Certifications preferred
- CPR/AED Certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Due to the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, the employee may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the team needs including working game nights.
