Job Summary

SUMMARY

• Assist in the operations of the hockey program.
• Report directly to the Head Hockey Coach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Student-Athlete Instruction: To foster, mold, guide, lead, and direct student-athletes towards a quality educational experience in order to obtain the ultimate goal of a degree.
• Checking on classroom attendance and grades, organizing weekly study tables, holding individual student athlete meetings.
• Team Instruction (Practices/Game Day): To develop a successful collegiate men’s ice hockey program and individual coaching philosophy thru off season programs, practice planning and in-season execution.
• Supervise strength and conditioning workouts, film breakdown of practice and games, game and practice coaching.
• Recruiting: Setting up and visiting High Schools both in and out of state, recruiting phone calls, off campus visits and setting up on-campus visits.
• Manage a database of prospects and maintain records of contacts to remain in compliance with NAIA, ACHA and University regulations.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Organize and coordinate of a wide variety of administrative tasks as assigned by the Head Coach, which include, marketing, public relations, fundraising, community service and other daily operations for the program.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Must possess a strong work ethic, organizational skills and the ability to interact professionally with both players and university administration.
• Must have a bachelor’s degree and be accepted into the the graduate school.
