You Will:
 

  • Serve as an integrated, effective and multi-faceted core member of the leadership team

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of transactional documents, including facility licenses, sponsorship agreements, marketing agreements, vendor agreements, procurement documents, MOUs, and sports and entertainment-related agreements

  • Conduct research and analysis; interpret statutes, regulations and caselaw; prepare legal memoranda, letters or reports, and provide advice and counsel as requested

  • Work closely with individual departments, leadership and ownership to anticipate, identify and manage liability areas, legal exposure and risk management

 
You Have:
 

  • A track record of producing favorable legal outcomes and minimizing risk 

  • Advanced legal research skills, including the use of library-based and electronic research solutions (e.g., LEXIS and Westlaw)

  • Superior writing skills and ability to prepare sound, concise, and legally sustainable agreements

  • Ability to express ideas and convey information effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Excellent evaluation, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to preserve the highest degree of confidentiality 

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and discretion

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and perform with minimal supervision

  • Ability to operate in organized manner and to develop and maintain accurate records

  • Experience collaborating with a variety of departments and a demonstrated ability to identify and resourcefully meet their diverse needs

  • A successful leadership background with high ethical standards

  • Enjoy being challenged and have a desire to solve complex problems daily

  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion both internally and externally

  • An outstanding work ethic and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently, self-motivate and discover new possibilities

  • Prior sports and entertainment industry experience a plus, but not required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, knowledge of current technologies and commitment to remain up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies

  • English language proficiency is essential and Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus. Additional languages – even better

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

  • At least seven years’ experience of practicing law in the United States

  • Experience in corporate law, public assembly/hospitality industry law, sports and entertainment law, municipal law, and/or legislative affairs preferred
