Assistant Track and Field Coach, NCAA

Job Summary

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the direction of all phases of the program, including coaching Throws
• Directing home meets including the organization of officials, scorekeepers, statisticians, media, lodging, meals and travel
• Coordinating the admission of prospective student-athletes
• Scheduling and budgeting
• Managing equipment orders and distribution
• Committing to the academic progress and success of student-athletes
• Assisting with the scouting and recruitment of student-athletes
• Assisting in the coordination of fundraising, camps, clinics and special events

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• Experience coaching throwing events.
• Due to recruiting and overnight travel, applicants must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record; must be able to obtain a State vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment and must qualify to operate a vehicle within the University guidelines.
• Ability to gain and maintain driving approval is required.  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior track and field participation at the NCAA level
• Prior coaching experience in the throwing events
• Experience with recruiting at the NCAA level preferred
• USATF Level 2 certification.
• Must be able to travel for extended periods of time for athletic contests and recruiting activities.
