Athletics Student Compliance Specialist

Job Summary

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for obtaining, evaluating, and documenting student athlete academic credentials in accordance with NCAA and Southland Conference eligibility requirements.
• Ensures compliance with federal financial aid enrollment requirements while ensuring that university policies and federal regulations are followed. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
• Reports to the associate registrar.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, university policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, federal, state, and local laws related to the area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn university degree requirements.
• Knowledge of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures.
• Skill in using computer applications such as spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
• Ability to understand and explain  NCAA  and Conference rules and regulations relative to continuing eligibility.
• Ability to assess individual student athletes’ academic needs relative to NCAA  progress towards degree requirements.
• Ability to interpret complex documents and perform statistical analysis.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
