Job Summary

Summary
  • Applies preparatory materials, paints, and stains to surfaces of walls, ceilings, equipment, and furniture.
  • Prepares and applies appropriate materials to signage and irregular

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Applies protective and decorative coat(s) of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials.
  • Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smooths interior and exterior surfaces prior to  pplying materials.
  • Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
  • Operates small power equipment..
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing.
  • Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, and ladders to reach surfaces of work area for Painters.
  • Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
  • Determines appropriate color for new or replacement applications through consultation with Arena Management.
  • Maintains existing paint surfaces through matching and tinting of appropriate paint products.

Qualifications 

Education and/or Experience 

  • 2-4 years of vocational schooling; or related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills 
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office software. 
Physical Demands 
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Required to sit.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  

Work Environment 

 
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
