JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for being a part of the Lakeland Magic statistician crew for all home games. The crew is responsible for accurately entering all statistics into a software provided by the NBA from the scorer's table.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports To: Business Operations Manager
GAME/EVENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Game night responsibilities: Yes
- Approximate number of games worked per season: ALL HOME GAMES
- Event night responsibilities: No
- Approximate number of events worked per season: None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work as part of a team to input statistics into league software, prioritizing integrity of information
- Study and understand the 2018-2019 G League Statistician's Manual and Official League Rules
- Attend training sessions for the official statistician software
- Assist the official score keeper to ensure stats crew and the official book match for each quarter
- Work closely with Officials during the game as necessary
- Makes decisions with little or no choice as to the methods and procedures used in achieving results
- All other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduate or equivalent experience required.
- Two years of statistician experience (college or pro) preferred
- Excellent knowledge of basketball terminology and NBA Rules and regulations strongly preferred
- Excellent computer literacy and functionality strongly preferred
- Knowledge of NBA Stats or similar software preferred
- Ability to represent the Lakeland Magic at the highest level
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products and other related computer skills required.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
- Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
- Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
- Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
- Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.
