Job Summary



Experience and Other Skills Required

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive a university-owned or rented van.
  • Must maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • AACCA Certified or able to attain certification within six months of employment

Other Skills Preferred

  • Previous cheerleading or coaching experience.
  • Knowledge of technical skills and safety rules.
  • Must obtain or willing to promptly acquire an AACCA cheerleading safety certification along with NFHS concussion certification,
  • First aid and any other certification such as USASF.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with college student athletes, athletic staff, and University personnel.
  • Able to provide leadership and be a role model for the team.
  • Extremely organized, professional and carries a passion for cheerleading.
  • Ability to work mornings, nights and weekends.

Description of Job Duties

  • Attend practices and home sporting event performances. This football, volleyball, and basketball games along with any other college or community appearances.
  • Instruct and aid in the choreographing of routines, cheers, and stunts.
  • Uphold and enforce the rules and regulations set by the Spirit Coordinator and the University.
  • Ensure that all cheerleaders are game/performance ready.
  • Assist in the management of a comprehensive conditioning program.
  • Assist in the travel to away performances, games, tournaments, competitions as well as food/beverage needs for the team.
  • Assist in the selection, purchase, distribution, and inventory control of the cheerleading equipment. Such as gear, clothing, accessories, uniforms, mats, etc.
  • Maintain a relationship with other University offices for on-campus spirit events, and campus activities.
  • Assist in the observation of academic success within the spirit program.
  • Provide support in scouting recruits, and all cheerleading scholarships.
  • Maintain direct communication between alumni and donors to the spirit program.
  • Aid the organization and approval for all fundraising events.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
