Community Relations Coordinator

Job Summary

• Act as team representative at community events and ensure both organizations have an appropriate level of involvement at local events

• Oversee all community relations based program events during game days – including but not limited to auctions and school programs


• Coordinate player/staff appearances in the community and at games/events


• Coordinate and record hours spent on volunteer opportunities for both organizations


• Coordinate speaking engagements through the Speakers Bureau


• Coordinate ballpark tours


• Schedule, manage and execute mascot appearances


• Network at Werner Park events and off-site events to promote Werner Park


• Brainstorm new programs for all organizations

• Communicate effectively with all clients and potential clients and deliver customer service that meets management expectations


• Oversee fulfillment of donation requests in a timely manner


• Ensure appropriate databases related to program participants and donations are maintained appropriately


• Other duties may be assigned

• Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Marketing, Business Administration, Journalism, Mass Communication or related field preferred


• Prior experience with effective customer service preferred

• Good working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet and database programs


• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for organizational business


• Ability and willingness to work varied and long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
